Put it all together now! Puzzles are an excellent development toy for kids of all ages. When solving puzzles, children learn spatial vocabulary, sequencing, problem-solving, task completion, persistence, and fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills through puzzle play. Caregivers can use time with puzzles thoughtfully to build social, emotional, and language skills. Children can learn words and concepts such as turn, flip, above, below, first, second, third, and last, and develop their ability to work through problems, collaborate with peers, and persist in the face of difficulty. They also refine their fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills as they manipulate puzzle pieces.
